Welcome. 🙏 A deep bow to you and your heart...

I’m Katie, and I’m so grateful that you’re here, exploring mindfulness, prioritizing your well-being, and exploring deep inner truths.

It's my joy and honor to serve as a mindfulness teacher, wellbeing consultant, and private coach. Over the past decade and a half, I've had the privilege of working in international schools, where I've taught mindfulness, wellbeing, social-emotional skills, and the principles of Positive Psychology to empower students, parents, and educators on their personal journeys.

Since childhood, I've been fascinated by the human mind, the mysteries of life, and the nature of reality itself – driven to understand the patterns that shape how we think, feel, and act. This lifelong curiosity, paired with years of meditation, self-inquiry, and professional study, has led to immense and unimaginable inner transformation—one that continues to unfold. I’ve come to understand that a dedication to ‘seeing clearly’ and cultivating compassion are the secrets to loosening limiting beliefs and becoming the architect of our own mind.

Mindfulness is a fundamental pillar of a thriving life, and an incredible catalyst for change. It is a journey of expanding our capacity to embrace what is and make balanced choices from a place of greater spaciousness. Each morning, I revisit my core intention of living with an awakened heart... The truth is that it is simple, but not always easy. I can promise, however, that the transformation is a most rewarding and worthy journey.

I am a graduate of MMTCP under the guidance of renowned Buddhist teachers and psychologists, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. While primarily rooted in the Insight Meditation Society lineage, I draw knowledge from many global philosophies and recognize that profound insights are woven into every culture. I have had the privilege of attending various extended, silent retreats and meditation courses in multiple lineages during my time living in Southeast Asia. Currently, I am completing my Counselling certification from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors to continue broadening my knowledge of psychological theory and applied practice.

At the heart of my philosophy is listening to the body’s innate wisdom - understanding that slowing down and taking care of ourselves is, in itself, a radical act in today’s fast-moving, attention-driven world - and knowing that the body is always here to guide us with its intuition and already-perfect presence.

My professional background in education has allowed me to work with hundreds of students across all dispositions, personalities, and social-emotional needs. This experience has been invaluable in helping me craft teachings differentiated to individual learners and understand their unique next steps. Perhaps most importantly, it has given me the expertise of being able to connect with the softest and most sensitive part alive within each of us: our inner child. My culminating Master’s meta-analysis focused on Mindfulness in Education, fueling my passion for sharing the power of meditation with children, in hopes that they might not have to spend as much time as I did unlearning unhelpful thought patterns and the tricks of monkey mind…

As an international Mindfulness & Wellbeing Coordinator, I have trained with Mindful Schools, Responsive Classroom, and Positive Education, been invited as a speaker for the Global Mindfulness in Education Summit, consulted for educators and schools from Argentina to Vietnam, and led various professional development courses for both personal and professional mindfulness training. You can read more about my work studying Developmental Mindfulness and in educational settings via my site, Mind-Heart Teaching.

My deepest aspiration is to co-create a world where compassion and connection lead the way. By drawing inspiration and humility from nature and her cycles, we can remember that we are here only as temporary, sacred guests, and we can loosen the grip of our attachment to unskillful identifications. It is this attunement and knowing our greater interconnectedness that allows us to touch the essence of our shared humanity. I believe it is from this space that we can truly create a more harmonious world.

So, what does working with me look like? Blending Buddhist philosophy, timeless wisdom, and modern neuroscience, I offer simple yet profound techniques for slowing down, facilitating introspection, and connecting with the heart of our being. Over the years, I have drafted, refined, and evolved my holistic wellbeing model (MERITS) for applied awareness, inspired by Positive Psychology, alongside my integrated coaching framework, weaving together best-practice approaches across modalities for self-development, healing, and personal evolution. My dream is that this work supports the ripple effects of community transformation, mindful relationships, and living with wise awareness - so that we may better care for the Earth, ourselves, and each other.

Remember, our minds quite literally shape our reality. Conscious, mindful living is not one-size-fits-all, but some universal truths remain:

Inner peace is your true nature.
Joy is your birthright.
And love is undeniably who you long to remember you are.

My greatest hope is in our waking up, together.

May we awaken to the highest potential of our minds and hearts.
May we discover the power of our own inner transformation.
May we live with compassion and deep, appreciative interconnection.
May our journey be guided by the light of awareness.
May we illuminate the path towards equanimity and our collective evolution.
And may all people experience kindness, healing, and freedom.

With gratitude and warmth,
Katie
